The study has shown the effectiveness of aspirin against bowel cancer

Scientists from the University of Leeds have made a breakthrough in the treatment of a particularly aggressive type of oncology. As a result of studies involving more than 700 people from 53 hospitals, the scientists have revealed the reduction of the number of cancer polyps due to activity of eicosapentaenoic acid. After the end of the annual study and “aspirin therapy,” the scientists performed a colonoscopy in patients and found that study participants, who consumed about 300 mg of aspirin every day for a year, showed the best result in reducing the number of precancerous polyps in the intestine. Now the scientists are trying to understand in what form and for how long aspirin can be integrated into anticancer therapy in various forms of oncology.
