Vitamin D3 has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system
Researchers from the University of Ohio have found that the sun's rays are useful for the cardiovascular system. Vitamin D3, produced in the body due to sunlight exposure, can restore the tissues of the heart and blood vessels, Medical Xpress reports.
A team of scientists has developed unique nanosensors with a diameter a thousand times smaller than a human hair. Using these nanosensors, the scientists monitored the effect of vitamin D3 on endothelial cells of the blood vessels. The researchers have found that D3 reduced the level of free radicals and interfered with the formation of dangerous blood clots.
According to the scientists, vitamin D3 helps to restore the cardiovascular system in various diseases (hypertension, diabetes, atherosclerosis). Also, this vitamin reduces the risk of heart attack and can play an important role in the regeneration of cerebral vessels after a stroke.
