Vitamins C and E combination helps with Parkinson's disease

Scientists from the University of Milan have analyzed data of 43,865 people, who completed a questionnaire on lifestyle factors and medical history, to study the effect of taking antioxidants (including vitamin E and C) on the risk of developing Parkinson's disease. The researchers have analyzed the relationship between the risk of developing Parkinson's disease and the total antioxidant diet saturation in the patients. The results of this study have shown that you can limit yourself to just two specific nutrients - vitamins E and C. A higher intake of these two vitamins at the same time, but not one of them, works as a defense for Parkinsonism.

Scientists believe that oxidative stress, which leads to the loss of dopaminergic cells, is involved in the pathogenesis of Parkinsonism. E and C antioxidants trap reactive oxygen species, thereby protecting neurons from damage.
