Santigen® Forte is a modern synbiotic that contains prebiotic and probiotic components. Santigen® Forte contains 3 prebiotic bacteria – Streptococcus faecalis, Clostridium butyricum, Bacillus mesentericus and probiotic bacteria – Lactobacillus sporogenes (Bacillus coagulans).

Streptococcus faecalis is a representative of normal intestinal microflora, capable to prevent the adhesion and reproduction of pathogenic bacteria on the intestinal mucosa.

Bacillus mesentericus suppresses the growth of pathogenic bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus albus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Streptococcus viridan, Bacillus anthrax, Klebsiella pneumonia, Salmonella typhi; and participates in the enzyme amylase synthesis, which contributes to the digestion and assimilation of carbohydrates.

Streptococcus faecalis and Bacillus mesentericus contribute to a significant increase in the number of lacto- and bifidobacteria in the intestine.

Clostridium butirycum is a spore-forming bacterium that is effective against the pathogenic bacterium Clostridium difficile, and helps to reduce its reproduction.

Lactobacillus sporogenes is a spore-forming bacterium that supports the growth of beneficial bacteria and suppresses the growth of pathogenic ones, thereby maintaining a healthy balance of intestinal microflora. In addition, Lactobacillus sporogenes has an immunostimulating effect due to the production of immunoglobulin M, G and A. The spores of bacteria produce bacteriocins (substances capable of damaging the membrane of pathogenic bacteria), which exhibit an antimicrobial activity.
