FOOD SUPPLEMENT

 SANTIGEN

Prebiotic and probiotic

for regulation of microflora of the gastrointestinal tract

Composition: 1 sachet contains:

Lactobacillus sporogenes (Bacillus coagulans) – 50 x 106 CFU

Streptococcus faecalis (Enterococcus faecalis) – 30 x 106 CFU

Clostridium butyricum – 2 x 106 CFU

Bacillus mesentericus – 1 x 106 CFU

Excipients: lactose anhydrous, colloidal silicon dioxide anti‐caking agent.

Characteristics of ingredients:

Lactobacillus sporogenes (Bacillus coagulans) is a spore-forming bacterium that supports the growth of beneficial bacteria and inhibits the growth of pathogens, thereby maintaining a healthy balance of intestinal microflora.

Lactobacillus sporogenes exhibits an immunostimulating effect. It is capable to improve human immunity due to the production of immunoglobulin M, G and A.

Spores of Lactobacillus sporogenes are acid-resistant.  They ripen and multiply when getting into the intestines. The spores produce lactic acid, which penetrates membranes and reduces the intracellular pH level in pathogens. This results in disruption of metabolic processes and leads to the death of pathogens. Also, the spores produce bacteriocins (substances that can damage the pathogens’ membrane), which exhibit an antimicrobial activity. By participating in the breakdown of proteins and carbohydrates, Lactobacillus sporogenes contributes to the normalization of digestion.

Streptococcus faecalis is a gram-positive bacterium that is a representative of the normal intestinal microflora. Streptococcus faecalis belongs to Enterococcus spp., therefore, as a representative of this spices, it is able to prevent adhesion and reproduction of pathogens on the intestinal mucosa. Streptococcus faecalis is resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics and aminoglycosides, so it can be used with antibiotics.

Bacillus mesentericus is a spore-forming bacterium that inhibits the growth of pathogens, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus albus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Streptococcus viridans, Bacillus anthracis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Salmonella typhi. Bacillus mesentericus is involved in the enzyme amylase synthesis, which contributes to the digestion and carbohydrates absorption.

Streptococcus faecalis (Enterococcus faecalis), Bacillus mesentericus contribute to a significant increase in the number of lacto- and bifidobacteria in the intestine. Clostridium butyricum is a spore-forming bacterium that is effective against the pathogenic bacteria - Clostridium difficile. It helps to reduce the pathogenic bacteria reproduction. Clostridium butyricum produces short-chain fatty acids such as butyric acid and acetic acid, thereby reducing the pH in the intestine and, as a consequence, the growth of pathogens. In addition, Clostridium butyricum contributes to the regulation of intestinal function.
